I’m pleased to announce ‘RUINS,’ my first hand-painted multiple (HPM) edition. Each print features a uniquely hand-painted background, making every piece one-of-a-kind. No two pieces are exactly alike, each on displaying subtle variations in texture, color, and application. Creating this edition was a genuine labor of love and I deeply enjoyed the process of creating works that carry the feeling, texture and soul of an original artwork.
’RUINS’ was inspired by the words of beloved Sufi poet Rumi: “Where there is ruin, there is hope for a treasure.” To me, the quote speaks to the transformative nature of pain, grief, and loss, which can leave us feeling like we are standing among ruins. But often times, it is within those ruins that we discover hidden treasures we never knew we were searching for, whether it be greater wisdom, resilience, purpose, or inner peace. Sometime, what appears to be an ending is simply the beginning of something we could not yet see.
