'IMPERMANENT NATURE' | Solo Exhibition

I’m excited to announce that I’ll be having my first solo exhibition titled, ‘Impermanent Nature’, on September 19th, 2019 with Galerie Itinerrance in Paris. I’ve been working hard all year to create this very special body of work just for the show, so I’m thrilled to finally be able to share it with all of you. The ‘Impermanent Nature’ collection will include canvases, mixed-media works, sculptures, found objects, works on paper, etc… I ask you all to come with open hearts and minds and look forward to spending this brief moment in time together. See you soon Paris!

‘IMPERMANENT NATURE’ | Artist Statement

All that exists is impermanent; nothing lasts forever. This is the law of nature and one of the fundamental truths of our existence. ‘Impermanent Nature’ is an exploration of our own true nature and the nature of reality itself. It is a story told through the lens of anicca (impermanence), allowing us to see ourselves as part of nature and also subject to change. It is a search for wisdom and beauty in the transient with the understanding that through anicca all things are possible. From the birth of stars, to our beating hearts, to every breath we take, anicca is what allows life to happen - impermanence is life.

By deepening our insight into impermanence, we can discover a world beyond notions of life and death, where there is no-birth and no-death, only continuous becoming. All physical and mental phenomena are transient, they come into being and dissolve away. Attachment to things that are impermanent and changing ineviteably leads to suffering. We must cultivate and nourish our insight into impermanence if we are to live more deeply and suffer less. Through observation and understanding we can experience the nature of impermanence and release ourselves from the sorrows of human life, achieving liberation from the process of anicca. “Behold, O monks, this is my last advice to you. All component things in the world are changeable. They are not lasting. Work hard to gain your own salvation.” These were the last words of the Buddha

HANOK EXPO | Seoul, Korea

I recently had a chance to go back to Korea to work on a special little project for the Hanok Expo, which focuses on traditional korean architecture and furniture. It was an honor to collaborate with Mr. So Byung Jin, who has been practicing traditional korean furniture making for many years and is considered a National Treasure in South Korea. Together we worked on creating a shelf that merges both of our unique stlyes into a cohesive piece. Many thanks to my pal Brian for this opportunity. Also, thank you to all of the sponsors for the support: RYSE Hotel, Noroo Paint & WTFM

POW!WOW!NEPAL | Koseli School

It's been a dream of mine to visit Nepal. What an incredible experience it has been hanging with old friends and new, along with the beautiful children of Koseli School. The director of the school, Neelam, along with the teachers are truly angels for the work that they have done for these neglected, under-privileged & orphaned children, providing them with meals and education. I am humbled and inspired beyond words by their compassion and dedication. Many thanks to the Pow!Wow! Fam for another epic journey! I am forever grateful for this experience... my heart is full.

I was recently invited to participate in the 8th Sharjah Calligraphy Biennial in the United Arab Emirates. It was an honor to show with some really incredible artists from all over the world, from photographers to installation artists. Many thanks to Noura and the team for the invite and hospitality.

I recently had the opportunity to paint with my good pal 'Meggs' out on the big island for Temple Children, an arts and sustainability organization with a focus on food sustainability and environmentalism, which him and our friend Miya spearhead. For our mural, we decided to combine both of our aesthetics to create the word 'MANA,' which means spiritual power in Hawaiian. This is something you feel all around you on the island, especially at the volcano! Many thanks to our dear friends, Meggs & Miya, for making this such a special trip!

'THE ILLUMINATION' Limited Edition Print | Available Now

I'm very pleased to announce the release of our first Limited Edition Print from the Sacred Lotus Series ~ "The Illumination." In these times of great change and global uncertainty, there is one prayer that always comes to mind, "Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu," which translates to, "May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all." Radiating out from the center of the lotus, this ancient Sanskrit prayer moves us from our personal, egoic self, towards embracing greater peace and compassion for all life. It is a blessing for global well-being and collective peace in our world, reminding us of the interconnectedness we all share. Through this prayer may we become more mindful of the way our thoughts, words and actions affect others, as well as, our planet.

**Portion of the proceeds to benefit the Koseli School for under privileged children in Nepal, a registered NGO, through the purchase of i.e., supplies, equipment, food, etc... Thank you for you support!
